Kochi Metro Rail Limited is the first metro rail service in Kerala. Kochi Metro is well connected in Kochi with 25 stations from Aluva to Petta via MG Road. The estimated project cost of Kochi Metro was around 5200 Crores.
KMRL signed an agreement with Kudumbashree, a women’s self-help group, on 11 December 2016 to manage the metro station premises including ticketing, customer relations, housekeeping, parking management and running the canteens.
There would be an extension from Petta to Thripunithura with an addition of three more stations.

Kochi Metro Rail Route Map
Kochi Metro will also extend its route from Nehru Stadium to Infopark, the important IT hub of Kochi in Kerala. The path from Nehru Stadium to Infopark will be via Palarivattom Bypass, Chempumukku, Vazhakkala, Kakkanad Junction, Kochi SEZ, Rajagiri & Infopark Phase 1.
Kochi Metro Rail Time Table

Kochi Metro Rail Fare
The minimum fare for Kochi Metro is fixed at Rs. 10 for first two km and the maximum fare would be Rs. 60 up to 25 Km. That means you can roam around Kochi for an attractive cheaper rate which is less than a dollar. The Kochi Metro fare is much cheaper than an AC bus, Auto, and a taxi car. KMRL is also planning to introduce smart card which can make use of Kochi Metro, Private Buses, KSRTC Buses & the Boat Services.
